2 tickets for 'The Help' at the Synergy Park, Kings Park on 11 December 2011.

you & me

Little snacks

 Cheers

We watched the movie 'The Help' starring Emma Stone.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves that night.
The weather was lovely and warm.
Even better if the sky was full of stars.
But clouds were fine.
i love clouds.
We found a nice spot for our picnic mat.
Nice and early.
We shared a bean bag.
lying there talking & snapping random photos.
I love the time we spent together.
&
i miss you lots.

The movie was perfectly cast, heart-warming, witty
& i simply adore the 1960's.
The friendship and compassion in the movie moved me to tears.
One of my favourite movies of 2011.

Watch the trailer here.

Movie: Drive

Recently i watched the movie Drive starring Ryan Gosling & Carey Mulligan.
Read that it has good reviews plus the trailer looked promising.
But i didn't know that it came with sickeningly bloody scenes.
I had to close my eyes to avoid those brutal moments.
I should have known it's rated MA15+ haha!

Drive is a gripping thriller with ultra-violent and shockingly gruesome man-killing.
It keeps your  heart racing.

What i find fascinating about this movie was the 80s inspired soundtracks, the setting of balmy weathered LA, the blossoming romance and the strong determination and values the main character, Driver (played by Ryan Gosling) hold. Also, his super long cool death-stares without the eyes blinking & his stunning scorpion-motif jacket that he wore almost all the times.

My favourite part of the movie was when he took Irene (played by Carey Mulligan) & the child on a care-free drive and how they exchanged shy eye contacts while in the car.

watch the trailer.

"Drive, above all else, reminds us why Gosling has been hailed as the new Sean Penn,
or even a 21st-century Brando. He is outstanding." -Ed Gibbs

"Refn's style is to draw out scenes to make a slow film punctuated with strong violence."

"Nicolas Winding Refn's Drive is an LA pulthriller, very brutal, very slick.
Ryan Gosling, playing the permafrost-cool hero with no name. He's a Hollywood stunt driver with a toothpick in the corner of his mouth, wearing a sleek bomber jacket with a scorpion on the back." -the Guardian

Have you seen this movie? If so, what is your favourite part of the movie?

Ok i must admit i watch Drive because Ryan Gosling is such a heartthrob...haha...and i want to watch him in his other recent movies like 'Crazy, Stupid Love' (i like Steve Carell too) & the upcoming 'The Ides of March'.

Movie of the year: Tangled

Last Thursday I went to watch Tangled. Finally, it's showing in Australia!
i really enjoyed watching it so thought i should blog about it. Definitely a Must Watch!

there's something about the frying pan! haha!

Disney, well, you have done it again! I'm adding Tangled to my Top Movies list. The last animation that made me thrilled and felt like a kid again is Toy Story 3.

Interesting Q&A with the directors

Wanted: Maximus the coolest sidekick ever!

Rapunzel, i like her paintings on the walls of the tower. I need paints & brushes right away!
Maximus, the horse is super duper funny! He sniffs around like a dog.
Pascal, the chameleon. aww...he is simply adorable! I like it everytime he changes his colour!
Flynn, well, he is known as Eugene half way through the movie and he has a charming look and the part when he did his smolder thing really makes me laugh!

Songs:
'Trouble' by Pink (featured in one of the trailers)
'I've got a dream' (watch the video clip here) that was a very funny part where everyone in the pub shared their dreams!
my favourite 'I see the light' here. (beautiful duet by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi)

Some of the funny lines in the movie:
Rapunzel: Who are you, and how did you find me?
Flynn Rider: [clears throat] I know not who you are, nor how I came to find you, but may I just say... Hi. How you doin'?
Flynn Rider: Frankly, I'm too scared to ask about the frog.
Rapunzel: Chameleon.

Hook Hand Thug: Go, live your dream.
Flynn Rider: I will.
Hook Hand Thug: Your dream stinks. I was talking to her.

Flynn Rider: Rapunzel?
Rapunzel: Eugene!
Flynn Rider: Did I ever tell you I've got a thing for brunettes?

This movie taught me one thing. A very important one.

Live your dream!

dare to dream and strive for it!

oh yea...
2011 resolutions:
dreamsss (ticked) :-)
