Art in Bloom September 2010

Something fascinating is brewing in the heart of city this September.

I am excited about this upcoming Spring themed exhibition after i saw the big billboard the other day. The city of Perth is springing to life again celebrating with lots of festive events around in the city.
Some of the highlights are mentioned below.

Art in Bloom

Friday 17 - Sunday 19 September 2010
Art in Bloom, organised by the Friends of the Art Gallery of Western Australia, is set to be the floral extravaganza of 2010. Thousands of flowers and plants will fill the Gallery as artists, designers, media personalities, students and others create floral responses to over 120 exhibited works of art, this year reflecting the works from the State Art Collection.
The exhibition opens to the public on the weekend of Friday
17 – Sunday 19 September.
A $10 entry fee ($8 concession) applies to the Art Gallery of
Western Australia for the weekend event. Free for children under 10.
Proceeds raised are used by the Friends of the Art Gallery to
assist with acquiring new artworks for the State Art Collection.

Exhibition

City in Bloom

In conjunction with Art in Bloom, Friday 17- Sunday 19 September, the City of Perth will decorate various public sculptures, shop windows and the city's built environment with botanical art installations.

Kings Park Festival

The annual Kings Park Festival is on again this September. In this International Year of Biodiversity, the festival will celebrate both people and plants in the heart of Western Australia’s Botanic Gardens, surrounded by wildflowers in all their spectacular springtime glory.
